So much has happened in only the first few month of 2020. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. As we all are adjusting to a new way of working and living with isolation and social distancing, all small business owners like myself are working on different ways to reach out to everyone.
Although physical locations are closed at the moment, there are so many ways to support local. Here's some things that the community and myself are doing and I hope we can all help support each other during this time. I'll be updating this post from time to time if anything new pops up.
1. Community Fundraising Shirt
In collaboration with Butter Block & Co. and Matte Black Studio, we designed a shirt with croissants! You can pre-order a shirt before April 17th that will help support these small businesses including our own, Hop & Flop. You can shop for the shirt here:
2. Homemade Hand Sanitizer by local businesses
Annex Brewery is just one of many local Calgary businesses affected by what's happening around the world, but like them, they are doing something good by creating hand sanitizer which is a hard to find luxury these days. Follow them allow here for when and where you can purchase it.
Another local business, Crafted Goods also has a hand cleanser if you need some travel size options too.
3. Leftovers Foundation
The foundation is kicking ass with diverting all food that restaurants and other places cannot use because they are closed temporarily. With all the extra food, Leftovers Foundation is helping to get it to people in need.
4. Restaurants are getting hit hard with closures.
Many of them are offering take away for curb side pick up or delivery. Check out your fav spots in town and see if you can support them by ordering some take away. Some places are also offering DIY meal kits.
5. Atco Blue Flame Kitchens also offers meal kits to go (curb side pick up only) and they also offer some essential grocery items that you can purchase too.
