It's been a whirlwind few months and I'm sure we all think we're done with 2020 already. As a small business owner, it's been super rough with no craft markets lined up, very few online sales and having gone through some personal things to deal with during covid19, I'm ready for some positive things to happen.
I've also been reading and seeing all the information about the black lives matter movement. There's still so much to learn. I'll continue to do so and do my best to be better, including being more aware of systematic racism.
You can find more information to learn and or to help with racism here:
1. Black Lives Matter Canadian Chapter
2. Across Boundaries
3. YYC Colours Documentary about Racism in Calgary
4. Action Dignity
5. Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre
I will update this list going forward, if I find more information to share that will help educate us and help with anti-racism.
I also put up a fundraiser up in honour of my grandma during these crazy times. Thank you to all that have donated so far. It means the world to me and my grandma who passed away from kidney cancer May 10, 2020. There are still some rewards left if you are interested in contributing - www.jennychan.bigcartel.com. Items have been sent to production, but because there are still some rewards available I will keep the fundraiser active until end of August, which is when I will be able to ship orders out.
